SANTA CRUZ, Calif.-- Stanford men's swimming (2-0) remained perfect on the young season, winning every event in its dual meet at UC Santa Cruz on Saturday morning.
The Cardinal, coming off a third place NCAA finish and its 30th Pac-10 title, saw senior Bobby Bollier win the 100 back and 50 free.
Freshmen David Nolan picked up a win in the 100 breast and Thomas Stephens won the 100 free. Other winners included veterans Rob Andrews (200 free), Curtis Lovelace (100 IM), Matthew Swanston (100 fly) and Aaron Wayne (50 fly). Stanford also swept both relays, the 200 medley and the 200 free relays.
“Things are going really good,” said captain David Mosko. “The freshmen are keeping the upperclassmen honest. They are really pushing and challenging us. We are really focused early on.”
Stanford next hosts Hawaii at home on October 14 and are at the Pacific Invitational on October 15.
