Sailors Battling for First at PCC Women's Championships

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. / PROVIDENCE, R.I. / NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Stanford and USC are knotted up at the women's Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Championships each tallying 22 points after the first day of sailing.

Stanford's A Division squad has scored wins in four of the first five races, for six points, while the B Division has 16 points. USC's B Division team also has six points, but through four races, while the A Division has 16 points.

On the East Coast, Stanford battled little wind, only getting through four races on day one. At the Hoyt Trophy, hosted by Brown, Stanford is in eighth place with 66 points. At the Stu Nelson Regatta, the Cardinal are 14th with 70 points.

All three regattas conclude on Sunday.
