FLUSHING, N.Y.- Mallory Burdette and Nicole Gibbs were upended in Saturday's semifinal round of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships, falling to Notre Dame's Kristy Frilling and Shannon Mathews 7-5, 7-6 (4).
The impressive tournament run ends for Burdette and Gibbs. The top-seeded pairing was bidding for its second title of the fall season, having already captured the crown at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.
In singles play, Gibbs dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Florida's Joanna Mather in the semifinals.
