ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- Stanford (3-1) split its two-day tri-meet, falling to Florida 194-169 and beating host Michigan 204-166 as Sam Woodward took home the title in the 100-yard freestyle and was a part of the winning 400 free relay team.
Woodward led a quartet of Cardinal in the 50 free all to swim under 51 seconds, posting the fastest time of 49.83, followed by Andi Murez (50.19), Betsy Webb (50.21) and Maddy Schaefer (50.27). Woodward then anchored the winning 400 free relay team to a time of 3:19.60, a day after anchoring the winning 200 free relay team that broke a 16-year old pool record.
Stanford also place three swimmers in the top-five of the 200 free. Following Florida's Teressa Crimmen (2:00.04), Andie Taylor was second (2:01.24), freshman Mackenzie Stein (2:03.21) had the fourth fastest time and Kirstie Chen rounded off the top-five with a time of 2:03.48.
The women's swim team closes out the fall schedule with the Toshiba Classic in Long Beach from November 18-20. Diving is at the Wildcat Invite that same weekend.
