LOS ANGELES - With rain in the forecast, No. 9 USC defeated No. 8 Stanford 5-1 in an abbreviated match on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday's match did not count toward the Pac-10 standings, although USC (9-2) avenged a 4-3 loss to Stanford last week at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
The Cardinal (8-3, 0-0 Pac-10) finishes 0-1 on its Southern California road trip, as yesterday's match at No. 2 UCLA was canceled due to rain.
Doubles play was canceled in order to complete singles play before forecasted rain moved into the area.
Stanford's only point came from Matt Kandath, who registered a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win at the No. 6 spot.
