Stanford Finish in Eighth at Team Championships

CASCADE LOCKS, Ore.-- Stanford sailing finished in eighth place at the team championships after an extended three days of sailing led by three freshmen sailors.

The Cardinal reached the second day after winning a sail off and finishing with a 4-3 first day record. But on day two Stanford went 1-6 in the first round robin and 0-2 in the second. It finished off the third day 2-3. The 3-11 record tied Yale in the eight-team gold rounds.

Stanford is one of eight teams nationally to qualify for all three finals. This Monday, the national championships conclude with the coed three-day race running through June 1. The Stanford women finished 14th in the women's national championships earlier this week.
