EAST COAST-- Stanford Sailing is in third place at the 10-team women's regatta at the University of South Florida, while it is in fifth at the College of Charleston's coed intersectional, seven points out of third after the first of two days of sailing on the East Coast.
Sally Mace and Helena Scutt sailed the A Division to a score of 31 points following top-10 finishes amongst the 18 competitors in four of the five races, including a win in race four. The B Division of Molly McKinney and Kaitlin Baab struggled with a last place and 14th place showing, leading to 51 points. The 82 points is still eight points back of the College of Charleston for second place and within striking distance of leader, Navy, with 67 points.
Up the seaboard in Charleston, following the host Cougars (43 points) and Georgetown (57), the Cardinal are in a tight three-team battle with Boston University (78), Michigan (83) and Stanford (85) all within seven points.
The B Division of Hans Henken and Natalie Urban have scored a low of 22 points paced by four wins and a fourth place showing in the first six races. The A Division skippered by Kieran Chung-Wolf has 63 points.
Racing concludes on Sunday.
