CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- No. 9 Stanford defeated No. 6 Kentucky 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, closing out play in the consolation round of the National Team Indoor Championships.
Stanford (8-4, 0-0 Pac-12) finished 2-1 on the weekend, also defeating No. 7 Baylor 4-2 while falling 4-1 to No. 2 Virginia.
The Cardinal locked up the doubles point and cleaned up on the back courts with three wins by identical 6-4, 6-4 scores.
Tied at 1-1, Denis Lin and Robert Stineman posted victories to make it 3-1 before John Morrissey provided the clincher.
Stanford is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 25, against California at 1 p.m.
