STANFORD, Calif.- No.6 Stanford suffered a 6-1 loss to No. 9 UCLA on Saturday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
The Cardinal (4-2, 0-0 Pac-12), which has played its first six matches without the services of two-time All-American Bradley Klahn due to injury, was swept at home this weekend against a pair of conference foes ranked in the top-10 after losing 7-0 to No. 1 USC on Friday.
However, this weekend's matches do not count toward the Pac-10 standings. The counting matches will be played in mid-April in Southern California.
Stanford actually took a 1-0 lead, winning the doubles point with victories at the top two spots of the lineup.
But the Bruins (6-0, 0-0 Pac-12) stormed back to win all six singles contests, clinching the match when Clay Thompson edged Matt Kandath 7-6 (5), 0-6, 6-4 at the No. 2 position.
Stanford is back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 7, against Hawai'i at 1:30 p.m.
