TUCSON, Ariz.- No. 8 Stanford bounced back from a loss on Wednesday to register a 5-2 victory over Arizona on Friday afternoon in the Cardinal's first Pac-12 match of the year.
The Cardinal (11-5, 1-0 Pac-12) won for the third time in four matches, shaking off a 6-1 defeat at No. 7 Pepperdine two days ago.
Stanford captured the doubles point and won three consecutive singles matches before the Wildcats (5-11, 0-1 Pac-12) finally got on the scoreboard.
Leading 1-0, Stanford received straight-set singles wins from Bradley Klahn (6-2, 6-1 at No. 1), Ryan Thacher (6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 and John Morrissey (7-5, 6-0 at No. 4).
Stanford concludes its three-match road swing on Sunday against Utah at 10 a.m. PT.
