Stanford Headed to NCAA West Regional

STANFORD, Calif. - The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2012 Division I Women's Golf Regionals and Stanford has been selected to join the 22-team field at the West Regional, to be held at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, May 10-12.

Joining Stanford in the field will be Baylor, California (Pac-12 champions), Denver (Sun Belt), Illinois, Iowa State, Jackson State (Southerwestern Athletic), Kennesaw State (Atlantic Sun), LSU, Missouri State (Missouri Valley), New Mexico, North Carolina, Northern Colorado (Big Sky), Oklahoma (Big 12), Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Jose State (Western Athletic), TCU (Mountain West), Texas Tech, Tulsa (Conference USA), UC Davis (Big West), UCLA and UNLV.

Penn State's Blue Course will serve as the host site for the East Regional while Ohio State's Scarlet Course will play host to the Central Regional.

The top eight teams from and two individuals from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.

Stanford is coming off a seventh place finish at the Pac-12 Championships over the weekend.
