STANFORD, Calif.- One day after the NCAA team brackets were announced, the Stanford tennis programs were once again well-represented among the singles and doubles selections for the 2012 NCAA Championships.

Only the selections were announced on Wednesday, the individual brackets will be released in two weeks.

The individual portion of the NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Championship is scheduled for May 23-28, with singles play kicking off on May 23 and the doubles competition getting underway on May 24.

MEN'S TEAM

Selections on the men's side include seniors Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher. Both players will compete in singles in addition to making a deep run as a doubles team.

Senior Bradley Klahn
2011-12: Tabbed an at-large selection ... ranked No. 36 nationally ... 11-5 overall, after returning to the court in mid-February following an injury early in the season ... 11-5 in duals, including a 9-3 record at the No. 1 spot ... 5-5 against nationally-ranked opponents ... 8-2 over his last 10 matches ... has yet to play a match in tournament play this year.

Senior Ryan Thacher
2011-12: Tabbed an at-large selection ... ranked No. 27 nationally ... 21-12 overall ... 12-8 in duals, compiling a 7-3 mark at the No. 1 spot and 5-5 ledger at the No. 2 position ... 9-4 in tournament play ... 5-8 against nationally-ranked opponents ... 5-5 over his last 10 matches ... captured the ITA Northwest Regional Championships crown, the first singles title of his career.

Senior Bradley Klahn and Senior Ryan Thacher
2011-12: Tabbed the No. 4 overall seed, earning All-America honors as a result ... ranked No. 6 nationally ... 17-2 overall ... 11-2 in duals, playing every match at the No. 1 spot ... 4-1 against nationally-ranked opponents ... 8-2 over their last 10 matches ... defended crown at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships, earning their seventh career title ... first duo to capture back-to-back titles at the historic tournament since former Stanford standouts Jared Palmer and Jonathan Stark accomplished the feat in 1990-91.

Three players are into the singles draw on the women's side, while two doubles teams will also be in action when competition gets underway.

Sophomore Nicole Gibbs
2011-12: Tabbed the No. 3 seed, earning All-America honors as a result ... ranked No. 3 nationally ... 31-5 overall ... 17-2 in duals, playing all her matches at the No. 1 spot ... 14-3 in tournament play ... 21-4 against nationally-ranked opponents ... 9-1 over her last 10 matches, including a seven-match winning streak ... has already pocketed two singles titles this year, winning the ITA Northwest Regional Championships and Pac-12 Championships ... reached semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships.

Junior Mallory Burdette
2011-12: Tabbed the No. 5 seed, earning All-America honors as a result ... ranked No. 5 nationally ... team-best 35-5 overall ... 18-0 in duals, playing every match at the No. 2 position ... 17-5 in tournament play ... 19-5 against nationally-ranked opponents ... 9-1 over her last 10 matches ... won 21 consecutive matches from Jan. 15-Apr. 28 ... won consolation singles title at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships ... posted runner-up finishes at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships and Freeman Memorial Invitational Championships ... reached semifinals of Pac-12 Championships.
