STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford women's gymnastics team will be holding its annual banquet on Thursday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Jimmy's Sports Cafe on campus at the Arrillaga Family Sports Center, and the public is invited.
Stanford completed an outstanding season that included its sixth appearance in the NCAA Super Six finals and the fourth top-four finish in school history.
The Cardinal finished fourth as a team by performing at its best at the NCAA Championships in Duluth, Ga. Stanford's score of 197.500 was its best since 2008 and its highest-ever in NCAA Championships competition.
Individual highlights included a second-place finish at the NCAA Individual Event finals by freshman Samantha Shapiro on the uneven bars, and the fourth-place tie by teammates Ivana Hong and Amanda Spinner on the balance beam.
In all, seven Stanford gymnasts combined to earn nine All-America honors.
