STANFORD, Calif. -- - Stanford's men's golf team is tied for third place after two rounds of the NCAA Men's Golf Championships-Stanford Regional after the Cardinal shot a five-under score of 275 on Friday.

Stanford is tied with Alabama-Birmingham for third place at 552, six strokes behind first place California, which sits atop the leader board at 546 (-14) followed closely by San Diego State (547; -13).

Tennessee (553; -7) has a one shot lead over San Francisco (554; -6) for the coveted fifth spot, as the low five teams from this regional will advance to the NCAA Championships later this month in Pacific Palisades.

Oregon State (556; -4), which shot an 11-under 269 today, along with Central Florida (557; -3) are well within striking distance of the cutline.

Stanford freshman Patrick Rodgers shot a four-under 66 and is tied for eighth place at 136 (-4). Rodgers picked up birdies on holes 7 and 8 to make the turn at one-under. He added five more birdies on the backside, including three in a row through holes 15, 16 and 17 before making bogey on 18 to finish at 66.

Rodgers is five strokes behind Cal's Michael Kim, who crafted a six-under 64 today to move to nine-under 131 for 36 holes.

Josh Anderson of Pepperdine and Zachary Blair of BYU, two of 10 individuals in this event, are tied for second at 132 (-8). The low individual player not affiliated with a team will also earn a spot in the NCAA Championship field.

Anderson and Blair will be paired together tomorrow and will tee off at 10:04 from hole 10.

Stanford's Patrick Grimes, who opened the tournament with a two-under 66, turned in an even par score of 70 on Friday and is tied for 18th place at 138 (-2). Grimes made birdies on his first two holes but slipped back to even par on the day following bogeys on holes 3 and 5.

An eagle on the par-5 seventh hole got him back to two-under, but he played his final nine holes at two-over to finish with a 70.

Sophomore Cameron Wilson is tied for 30th at even par 140 after his second consecutive round of 70. Wilson made the turn at two-over but picked up birdies on holes 11, 15 and 16 before finishing with a bogey for a second round score of 70.
