STANFORD, Calif. -- The Stanford men's golf team qualified for the NCAA Championships after a fourth-place finish at the Stanford Regional on Saturday from the Stanford Golf Course. The Cardinal shot a round of 280 to finish the tournament at 8-under par.

California won the regional, extending its two-day lead with a round of 269 on Saturday. The Golden Bears finished with a three-day total of 815, which is 25-under par.

San Diego State and Alabama-Birmingham rounded out the top-three team finishers, while Central Florida joined the Cardinal to advance to the NCAA Championships. The NCAAs will be played at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles beginning on May 29.

The individual medalist was Josh Anderson of Pepperdine who finished with a round of 64 to earn a two-shot victory over J.J. Spaun of San Diego State. Anderson finished the three days at 14-under par and will advance to the NCAAs as the individual from the Stanford Regional.

The Cardinal was led by Andrew Yun in the final round as the senior fired a round of 66. Yun finished tied for 15th overall with a three-day total of 3-under 207.

Stanford's top overall finisher was Patrick Rodgers who shot a round of even-par 70 on Saturday. Rodgers finished 4-under for the tournament and tied for 10th place.

Finishing with a third-straight round of par or better was Cameron Wilson with a 1-under 69. Wilson placed tied for 22nd overall at 1-under 209.

The final Cardinal scorer on Saturday was Patrick Grimes. The freshman battled to a round of 5-over 75 and finished tied for 39th overall. Grimes, who shot 66 on Thursday, finished at 3-over 213.

David Chung rounded out the Cardinal squad, placing tied for 66th overall with a three-day total of 222.

The Cardinal will now have a chance to compete for the NCAA title at Riviera. Stanford will play two rounds of stroke play with the hope of advancing to the match play portion of the Championships.
