- Tonight's game marked the 83rd meeting between the two programs.
- Stanford trails the all-time series, 38-41-4.
- Before tonight's loss, Stanford had won its last four road openers and last four Pac-12 road openers.
- Stanford was denied a 4-0 record for the third straight season, a feat last accomplished on The Farm from 1950-52.
- Stanford's saw its streak of 11 straight wins in the month of September dating back to the 2008 campaign snapped.

- Stanford's offensive line entered tonight's contest allowing just two quarterback sacks through three games this season (0.67 average), best in the Pac-12 and tied for 12th in the country. The Huskies managed to sack QB Josh Nunes two times on the evening.
- Stanford entered the game as one of only nine teams in FBS football to hold each of its opponents this season to fewer than 20 points in games (San Jose State - 17, Duke - 13, USC - 14) and continued that streak tonight at Washington.
- Washington's 35-yard passing touchdown in the fourth quarter was the first score allowed by the Stanford defense in the fourth quarter in 2012. It was also the first passing touchdown allowed by the Cardinal defense in its last 13 quarters on the field.
- Dating back to the 2009 season, Stanford's eight losses have come by a margin of 7.5 points (60 total).
- The Cardinal is 11-10 in its last 21 games decided by a touchdown or less.
Tonight's Loss
- Tonight's game was the first for Stanford without recording an offensive touchdown since a 23-6 loss to Oregon State on Oct. 27, 2007.
- The loss was the first for a ranked Stanford squad against an unranked foe since the 14th-ranked Cardinal suffered a 34-28 home setback to Cal on Nov. 21, 2009.
- The loss was the first for a ranked Stanford squad against an unranked foe on the road since the 25th-ranked Cardinal suffered a 31-14 setback at Arizona State on Oct. 13, 1997.

- Stanford won the coin toss and elected to receive. Washington chose to defend the north endzone.
- Sophomore QB Kevin Hogan made his collegiate debut with a five-yard run in the first quarter.
- Senior DT Terrence Stephens was one of seven players to record a tackle for loss against the Huskies. Stanford now has 15 players with a tackle for loss on the season.
- Washington RB Bishop Sankey's 61-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter was the longest allowed by Stanford since Curtis McNeal rattled off a 61-yard score for USC in a 56-48 triple-overtime win for Stanford in 2011.
- Senior OLB Trent Murphy picked off his first career interception at the 2:51 mark in the third quarter and returned it 30 yards for Stanford's only touchdown on the game.
- Stanford's defense has recorded seven interceptions in 2012, returning two of those for touchdowns.
Special Starts
- Sophomore WR Ty Montgomery the opening kickoff 33 yards, the fourth Cardinal kickoff return of the season to cover 30 or more yards. Montgomery returned a kickoff 34 yards at the 4:43 mark in the fourth quarter.
- Freshman CB Alex Carter tacked on a 30-yard kickoff at the 2:10 mark in the first quarter.
Senior RB Stepfan Taylor
- Taylor's streak of 58 consecutive rushes for positive yardage was snapped with a four-yard loss early in the fourth quarter. Each of Taylor's first 19 rushes against the Huskies were good for positive yards.
Senior TE Zach Ertz
- Caught a pair of first-half passes for 59 yards, including a 35-yarder on 3rd-and-3 from the Stanford 25-yard line late in the second quarter.
- Ertz finished with a career-high six catches for 106 yards, the first 100-yard outing of his career.
Senior OLB Chase Thomas
- Recorded a solo sack in the first quarter to bring his career total to 22.5, tying him for sixth on the program's career chart with Willie Howard (1977-00).
