TEMPE, Ariz. - Second-ranked Stanford women's water polo closed out a perfect 3-0 trip to the desert Monday with a 13-4 win over No. 19 Hartwick in Tempe, Ariz.
The Cardinal (18-1) returns home for a brief respite before heading to the tropics for four games in Honolulu this weekend. Stanford opens the trip with a doubleheader Friday, March 29, taking on UC San Diego at 11 a.m. PT followed by a 4:30 p.m. PT contest against UC Santa Barbara. The next day the Cardinal faces San Diego State at 12 noon PT before closing things out against host Hawai'i at 5 p.m. PT.

Emily Dorst and Gabby Stone each handled a half in the cage, with Dorst getting the start and making five saves over the first half and Stone making six saves over the final two periods.
Dries opened up the scoring Monday just 40 seconds into the contest, and Steffens and Dodson each scored twice during Stanford's seven-goal first period. Additional goals from Seidemann and Grossman made it 7-1 Cardinal after the opening eight minutes.
Yelizarova scored the second period's only goal while Seidemann and Steffens added the first two goals of the second half to complete a 3-0 Cardinal run and make it 10-1 with 2:45 to go in the third period. Sasha Freeborn and Sami Capparelli netted the next two goals for Hartwick to make it 10-3 by the end of the frame but the Cardinal would outscore the Hawks 3-1 in the final period.
