Box Score

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The 13th-ranked Stanford women's lacrosse team allowed just two goals per half to claim a 15-4 victory Tuesday at Vanderbilt.

Stanford (5-2, 1-0 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) jumped out to an early 4-0 lead just 4:22 into the first half with goals from four different players. After Vanderbilt (1-10) cut the lead in half with two goals of its own, Stanford went on an 8-0 scoring run that spanned over 30 minutes to solidify the victory.

Junior Rachel Ozer led the Cardinal with five points on three goals and two assists, followed by sophomore Kyle Fraser who notched four points with three goals and an assist. Ozer continues to lead Stanford in points (29), goals (19) and assists (10).

Junior goalkeeper Lyndsey Munoz made 13 saves and her four goals-against in a single game rank ninth-best all-time by a Stanford netminder.

Stanford dominated play in the midfield, earning 15-16 successful clears while limiting Vanderbilt to just 8-15.

Junior midfielders Hannah Farr and Anna Kim controlled the midfield and delivered strong offensive performances, each tallying three points on two goals and an assist. Kim also picked up a team-high four draw controls and ranks second on the Cardinal with 20 on the season.

Freshman Lucy Dikeou also provided a strong all-around effort in the midfield, notching two points with a goal and an assist, picking up two ground balls and causing two turnovers.

The four goals Stanford allowed are the fewest in a game since it played Fresno State on April 3, 2012, when it conceded just three. It is the fewest goals allowed in a nonconference match since Stanford earned a 19-4 victory against Cincinnati on March 22, 2010.

The Cardinal will look to carry its momentum into its next match against No. 19 James Madison on Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m. (PT) in Harrisonburg, Va.
