International Competition: Was a representative for Singapore at international competition since 2007... named the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association's Most Outstanding Male Swimmer in 2009 at the Hong Kong Open... broke Kenneth Goh's 2003 50m Breaststrokenational record six times in 2009, following a time of 28.03 and a win at the Asian Swim Championships in November, 2009... originally broke the record in March 2009 at the Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships, and twice in June, 2009 at the Singapore Nationals before breaking it again a month later at the FINA World Championships in Rome. Did it again in September, 2009 at the Hong Kong Open prior to setting the mark at the Asian Games in November... also twice set the national record in the 100 breast, first at the Hong Kong Open in September, 2009, before doing it again at the Asian Championships in November, 2009 ... finished first or second in the 50 or 100 breast nine times from March, 2009 to September, 2010, setting eight national records in the process... also swam at the FINA World Championships in 2007.
2010-2011 (Freshman): Did not swim.
High School: Swimming for the Raffles Institution, he led them to the national inter-school championship in 2006 and 2007... part of the A Division 4x50-meter relay team... set the Singapore National open record in the 50 and 100-meter breast... also the Asian Swimming Championships record holder in the 50-meter breast, set in 2009.
Personal: Son of Dennis and Flory Lam... has two siblings, a younger sister, Andrea, and a younger brother, Darrin... earned the Singapore Sports Council's National and College Colours Awards in 2006 and 2007... majoring in chemical engineering
