Ben Quittner, a former member of the Hungarian National Team, is in his eleventh season as assistant coach at Stanford. The 43-year-old Quittner is a native of Budapest, and previously served as head water polo coach at the University of Michigan. He led the Wolverines to two Big-10 titles. Quittner has led the Stanford summer junior team to back-to-back gold medal wins at the Junior National Olympics.
He has also served as head coach of Stanford's women's water polo team, which gained varsity status in 1996. In their first year of varsity competition, he led the women's team to a fifth place national ranking. In 1997, the Cardinal women placed fourth nationally.
Quittner has also coached the Northern California All-Stars of the United States Premier League. He also has been zone commissioner for the Premier League.
