Beth Hoover began sailing keelboats recreationally in high school, but didn't sail a dinghy until she joined Stanford. The first time Hoover sailed an FJ she was swamped and capsized, and she has loved the sport ever since. Now she mainly sails FJ's, 420's and dinghy's. Hoover was named most improved crew in 2006 in addition to her title as official team snacktician.
