At Stanford: Finished his four-year career with a .257 batting average (98-for-382) with 64 runs scored, 19 doubles, six triples, four home runs, 60 RBI and four stolen bases in 156 games (59 starts)...committed just one error in 81 lifetime defensive chances for a .988 fielding percentage...logged a .417 slugging percentage in seven career NCAA Tournament contests (four starts), going 4-for-12 with two doubles...economics major was a second-team Pac-10 All-Academic selection in 2008 after earning honorable mention accolades in 2007.
As a Senior in 2008: Played a key role on Stanford's College World Series club, batting .257 (39-for-152) with 28 runs scored, eight doubles, three triples, one home run, 19 RBI and two stolen bases in 53 games (41 starts)...set career highs in every category except home runs (tied) and RBI (one shy)...also drew a career-high 23 walks and was hit by four pitches for a .367 on-base percentage...was named the co-winner of Stanford's Most Inspirational Player award, sharing the honors with Austin Yount...Stanford was an impressive 26-14-1 in his 41 starts, which came in right field (27 games), left field (10) and designated hitter (four)...logged eight multi-hit games, and five multi-RBI contests...posted a career-high seven-game hitting streak from March 8-29, going 10-for-29 (.345) with two doubles and four RBI...matched his career high with three hits April 9 vs. UC Davis...had a season-high three RBI May 6 at San Francisco, courtesy of a three-run homer...played in five postseason games (four starts), while going 2-for-9 (.222) with a double...went 1-for-3 with a double in a Regional elimination game victory over UC Davis (June 1)...also went 1-for-3 as Stanford won the opening contest of the Super Regional at Cal State Fullerton (June 6)...named to the Pac-10 All-Academic second team.
As a Junior in 2007: Had a very solid season, highlighted by a career-best .310 batting average (26-for-84) and career-high 20 RBI...added seven doubles, two triples and one home run in 38 games (13 starts)...was primarily used as a designated hitter and left-handed bat off the bench...hit 279 (12-for-43) in 18 Pac-10 games (five starts), while adding four doubles, a team Pac-10 high two triples, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored...set career highs with three hits and four RBI in a May 26 contest at USC...earned Stanford's Come Through Award...garnered honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic accolades.
As a Sophomore In 2006: Hit .267 (12-for-45) with two doubles, one homer and seven RBI in 23 games (four starts)... was the club co-leader with four pinch-hits, going 4-for-16 (.250)....made all four of his starts in a 10-day stretch from April 8-17... had four hits in 10 official Pac-10 at-bats for a .400 conference batting average...had four hits in his last eight official at-bats, including a pinch-hit RBI double in the ninth inning of the NCAA Regional championship game vs. North Carolina State (June 4)...that hit came after having not played in the previous 13 contests.
As a Freshman In 2005: Played in 42 games (one start in left field), hitting .208 (21-for-101) with two doubles, one triple, a homer, 14 RBI and two stolen bases...officially had 10 pinch-hits in 33 at bats (most were the first time through the lineup when he was replacing a pitcher who had officially started at designated hitter) for a .303 mark, but was just .169 (11-for-65) as the official designated hitter...posted five two-hit games and four two-RBI contests...made his collegiate debut January 29 vs. Fresno State...delivered a pinch-single February 6 at Cal State Fullerton for his first career hit, while his first career RBI came in a February 20 contest at Texas...belted his initial collegiate home run April 19 vs. San Jose State...did not play in the postseason due to injury.
High School: Graduated in 2004 from Gaither High School in Tampa, Fla....twice selected first-team All-Western Conference and All-Hillsborough County (2003 and 2004)...was chosen second-team All-Western Conference in 2002 as a sophomore...named his school's 2002 Sportsman of the Year...hit .394 with four homers, 27 RBI and 14 stolen bases as a senior...was named Best Hitter at the 2004 Tony Saladino Tournament, where he batted 1.000 (9-for-9) with three doubles, one home run and five walks...as a junior, hit .356 with 12 doubles, two homers, 20 RBI and 14 stolen bases...batted .315 with one homer, 29 RBI and 12 stolen bases in his sophomore year...coached by Frank Permuy.
Other Amateur Baseball: A first-team All-Horizon League player who posted a productive 2007 summer campaign with the Maxim Yankees, hitting .333 (37-for-111) with two homers, 23 RBI and six stolen bases for a club that finished with a 32-16 overall record and placed ninth at the season-ending NBC World Series...also pitched in the summer of 2007, getting in three games (one start) with no decisions and a 7.20 ERA in 5.0 innings of work...hit .258 (16-for-62) with a homer, seven RBI and seven stolen bases for the Pittsfield Dukes of the New England Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2006...played three summers with the American Legion Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay (2002-04)...hit .423 with three homers in 11 games during the summer of 2004, as well as .557 with five home runs in 2003 and .457 with three homers in 2002...earned all-tournament honors with Team Florida at the 2004 All-Star Sunbelt Classic Tournament, batting .400 with two doubles and six stolen bases...played with the Tampa/Forest Hills squad in the 2002 Colt World Series, helping the team to the semifinal game while hitting .567 with two doubles.
