Personal: Post-grad plans are to attend business school and to work in business with an engineering focus. Spent last summer as an intern for Standard Electronics. Favorite books are The Five People You Meet in Heaven and Oryx and Crake. Favorite movies are Legally Blonde and Dick. Favorite foods are tomatoes and bagels. Hobbies are waterskiing, squash, and traveling. Has three younger siblings: Brooke, Tara, and Jake. Parents are Patricia and James Stokes. Born in Wynnewood, PA.

Other colleges I considered: Georgetown, Brown, Duke

Why I chose to attend Stanford: The combination of strong academics, excited students, and California location. The campus atmosphere was very engaging and intellectual, yet also fun when I visited. The students seemed balanced, happy, and hard-working.

What I love most about rowing for Stanford: My teammates, coaches, and the ability to row year-round thanks to the weather.
