The 1998 Season: It became evident very early in the '98 season that Dave would be a quality receiver ... He wound up third on the team with 48 receptions for 707 yards (14.7 ypc) and six touchdowns in 10 games ... Those numbers are better than any redshirt freshman receiver in school history ... His best game of the year came against Oregon State when he caught nine passes for 151 yards - both career bests - and one touchdown ... That touchdown was a 30-yard pass from QB Todd Husak in the third quarter which tied the score at 23-23 ... He had eight receptions for 127 yards and two TDs in game two at Arizona ... He caught TD passes of 12 and 42 yards from Husak vs. the Wildcats ... Davis had his third 100-yard receiving game vs. North Carolina when he caught six passes for 108 yards ... The 1997 Season: Redshirted the '97 campaign as a backup wide receiver ... Winner of the Greg Piers Award as the team's top offensive service team player.
In High School: Talented and versatile athlete who played wide receiver and cornerback as a senior while also returning punts and kickoffs ...
