Gibbs Wins Singles Title; Tan and Tsay Take Doubles Crown
Nicole Gibbs captured the first singles title of her career on Tuesday afternoon, defeating teammate Mallory Burdette 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (3) at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.

Women's Tennis Opens Play At ITA Northwest Regionals
Four Stanford players won second-round matches on Friday afternoon, opening play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northwest Regional Championships at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
2010-11: Finished season at 2-4 overall ... made collegiate debut on Oct. 22, falling to Washington's Lina Xu 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships ... collected first career singles win on Jan. 15 at the Freeman Memorial Invitational, defeating USC's Hayley Miller 6-4, 6-2 ... second win of the year also came against Miller on Apr. 29 at the Pac-10 Championships.
Prior to Stanford: 2010 graduate of University School of Milwaukee ... 2010 National High School Tennis All-American recipient of the 2010 Frank Parker Award-Wisconsin Player of the Year ... recipient of 2010 Helen Schockley Award-Midwest Player of the Year ... consistently ranked among top-50 nationally as a junior ... winner of Peach State in Atlanta Girls 14's ... finalist at National Open Girls 16's ...
