Former Stanford standout Jakki Bailey, a 2007 graduate, will remain on The Farm and enter her first season as an assistant coach to the men's and women's track teams, handling sprints and jumps.

"As a former team captain and leader, Jakki has the knowledge, desire, and interest to help this program reach the next level," said Edrick Floreal.

As a senior, Bailey qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 meters after placing sixth and third at the NCAA West Regional and the Pac-10 Championships, respectively. She recorded career-best times of 11.45 in the 100 meters and 23.66 in the 200 meters during her final season on The Farm. She was also named a to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

In 2006, Bailey served as a team co-captain and helped the Cardinal to a second place finish at the Pac-10 Championships as a member of the runner-up 400-meter relay team. She recorded a season-best time of 11.47 in the 100 meters at the NCAA West Regional.

In, 2005 Bailey helped Stanford capture the Pac-10 title as a member of the 400 meter relay team that finished second at the conference meet.

In her first two indoor seasons Bailey set the school record at the time (now in third) in the 60 meters with a time of 7.35, while also qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 200 meters.

A native of Avondale, Pa., Bailey graduated as a three-time Pac-10 Academic All-Conference selection with a B.A. in Communications and an M.A. in Social Psychology.
