Jordan Steele begins her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Cardinal. She will be responsible for extensive work with the team's offensive skills and strategy while also playing a large role in the recruiting process.

Steele joined the Stanford coaching staff in 2004 after playing four seasons of collegiate field hockey at William and Mary, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Government in December of 2003.

Steele was chosen to serve as an assistant coach for the North at the 2004 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I North/South Senior All-Star Game. In that contest, Steele teamed with current Cardinal head coach Lesley Irvine to lead the North squad to a 2-1 victory with 2004 Stanford senior Eleanor Morgan scoring the game-winning goal.

Steele became a certified National Futures coach in March of 2004, coaching Under-16 and Under-19 teams for the Regional Futures' Tournament as well as the California representative teams at the National Futures Tournament held in Virginia Beach. During that time, Steele coached the California U19 team to an unprecedented third place playoff game in the tournament, eventually finishing an impressive fourth overall out of 16 teams.

She also spent four years (2000-03) coaching with the Nike Colonial Field Hockey Camp before coaching during the summers of 2004 and '05 at several different camps.

Steele capped a four-year collegiate playing career (2000-03) at William and Mary with a huge senior season, earning a spot on the 2003 NFHCA Division I North/South Senior All-Star Team, as well as picking up All-State, First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association, Second Team All-South Region and CAA All-Tournament honors. A three-time CAA Player of the Week that season, Steele finished as the leading scorer in points in the CAA.

She also earned the President's Award recognizing leadership, sportsmanship, and citizenship amongst all athletes at William and Mary for her performance during the 2003 season. Steele led the Tribe in scoring with 31 points on 13 goals and five assists in her senior campaign and finished her career with 56 points on 20 goals and 16 assists. The Tribe also reached the NCAA Tournament twice during her career.

"Jordan will continue to relate her offensive knowledge to our players," said head coach Lesley Irvine. "She has also proved herself to be a talented recruiter. She is very passionate about Stanford and its field hockey program and she is able to inspire this in others."
