This fall, Mas Shibata begins his first season as Stanford's volunteer assistant coach and his second as a member of the Cardinal staff.
Shibata served as the team's video coordinator during the 2007 season and was part of the staff that led the team to its second straight Pac-10 title and an appearance in the NCAA championship match.
A graduate of Fresno State, he began his coaching career at Pacific in 1990 and spent 12 seasons with the Tiger program - four as a volunteer assistant and eight as a full-time assistant coach. During the 2004 season, he was an assistant coach at Oregon. Recently, he has worked with San Diego Volleyball Club.
