One of just two seniors on the squad ... A very strong swimmer with a beautifully improved technique ... Currently ranks among the world's best in the 25-meter pool in the 50m free (#21, 25.32), the 100m free (#50, 55.53), 50m fly (#96, 28.43) and 100m fly (#93, 1:01.72) ... Also ranked 100th in the world in the 50m free for the 50m pool (26.35) ... Is fourth in the 50 free (22.54), eighth in the 100 free (49.65) and 10th in the 100 fly (54.46) on Stanford's All-Time Top-10 list.
As a Junior in 1999-2000: A four-time All-American ... Finished 13th in the 50m free (25.65, 25.32 trials) and was also a member of three All-American relay teams (200m free, 400m free and 200m medley at the NCAA Championships ... Swam the leadoff leg on both the 200m free (1:40.48) and 400m free (55.90/3:39.77) teams that finished second and third in the nation, respectively ... Also anchored the 200m medley team that placed second (24.92/1:50.15) ... Competed at the NCAA meet in both the 100m free (21st, 56.03) and 100m fly (23rd, 1:01.72) but did not final in either event ... Placed among the best at the Pac-10 meet in the 50 free (5th, 23.21), the 100 free (8th, 50.60, 50.57 prelims) and the 100 fly (9th, 55.21), while winning a Pac-10 title by swimming the second leg (49.41) on the team's championship 400 free relay squad (3:17.78) ... Regular season was highlighted by a pair of victories at the Arizona meet in the 50 free (season-best 23.17) and 100 free (50.54), as well as a win in the 50 free (23.31) in the meet versus California.
As a Sophomore in 1998-1999: Earned All-America honors leading off (23.11) the 200 free relay team (1:30.29) that finished second at the NCAA Championships ... Finished 19th in the 100 fly (55.36), 23rd in the 50 free (23.09) and 37th in the 100 free (50.58) at the NCAA meet ... Also swam on the 400 free relay (50.42 split) during the prelims ... Placed seventh in the 50 free (23.61), eighth in the 100 free (50.86) and 17th in the 100 fly (55.89) at the Pac-10 Championships ... Anchored the Pac-10 meet record-setting 200 medley relay team (22.65 split) ... Also swam on the second-place 400 free relay team (50.01 split) and led off the third-place 200 free relay team (23.47).
As a Freshman in 1997-1998: Had an immediate impact on the team, becoming a six-time All-American ... At the NCAA Championships, helped the 200 and 400 medley relay teams win titles ... Swam the first leg of the second-place 400 free and fourth-place 200 free relays ... Placed seventh in the 50 free (22.57), 10th in the 100 fly (54.46) and 17th in the 100 free (49.86) at the NCAA Championships ... At the Pac-10 meet, tied teammate Catherine Fox at 22.69 for the 50 free conference title ... Also won crowns with the 200 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays ... Placed seventh in the 100 free (50.50) and eighth in the 100 fly (55.36) ... Swam the anchor leg of the 200 free relay team that broke the deGuerre Pool record (1:33.71) in the Cal dual meet (2/14/98).
National/International Competition: Participated in the 2000 Olympic Games with Trinidad & Tobago ... Competed in three events (50m free, 26.36; 100m free, 57.91; 100m fly, 1:03.34) but did advance beyond the prelims in any of the three ... Finished eighth in the 50m free at the 1997 World Short Course Championships in Sweden ... Also participated in the Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games, swimming a then career-best 50m time (25.89) that would have earned her a spot in the 1996 Olympic finals ... Represented Trinidad & Tobago at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the 50m free and 100m free ... National record-holder in the 50m free and 100m free.
