California vs. George Washington
Final Score: George Washington 55, California 53

  • Making its 15th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance, George Washington improves to 18-14.  The Colonials are now 4-9 in 13 second-round NCAA Tournament games.
  • George Washington advances to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in school history.
  • Prior to tonight, George Washington and California had not faced off in women?™s basketball.  However, the Colonials do own an 8-3 all-time record against current Pac-10 programs.
  • George Washington shot below 35-percent for the fourth time this year. The Colonials are 2-2 when that?™s the case.
  • Three George Washington players scored in double-figures, led by Antelia Parrish?™s fourth double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.  The Colonials placed at least three players in double-figures for the sixth consecutive game.
  • California wraps up its season at 27-7, establishing a school record for single-season victories along the way. The 27 victories are also the most by a Joanne Boyle-coached team.
  • California finished 8-20 from beyond the arc, breaking the previous school record (4) for most three-pointers made in an NCAA Tournament game. The Golden Bears had made a combined 6-27 three-pointers over their previous two games.
  • The Golden Bears outrebounded the Colonials 44-38, signaling the 28th time this year they have held an edge in the rebounding department.
  • All five Cal starters finished with at least five rebounds for the first time this year.
  • Ashley Walker led all scorers with 19 points. She has led the Golden Bears in scoring in three of her four career NCAA Tournament games.
  • California falls to 22-2 on the year when leading at halftime.
  • George Washington held a 26-14 points in the paint edge.
  • George Washington dished out 15 assists while committing only seven turnovers, while California ended up with nine assists and 14 turnovers.
  • California made just 7-27 field goal attempts in the second half and did not score a bucket over the final 4:09.
