| A significant contributor to Stanford’s golf team in 1938, Art Doering led the squad to the school’s first ever national championship in golf, and the first title won by a West-Coast university. As a professional he competed in several majors, recording his best finish (41st) while still a Stanford student. Doering won one PGA Tour event, the Greater Greensboro Open, and continued his career into the 1960s. | |||||||||
