| Dud DeGroot competed in basketball, football, swimming and water polo on The Farm. DeGroot played for Coach Glenn “Pop” Warner and became the Stanford football team captain in 1922. The two-time Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America backstroke champion was also a member of 1924 U.S. rugby team that won a gold medal in Paris. DeGroot coached two seasons for the Washington Redskins from 1944-45. | |||||||||
