Enjoyed a distinguished career as both a player (1942-43) and coach (1955-75) ; voted team MVP in helping lead Stanford to 1942 NCAA championship ; coached at Stanford for a program-record 21 seasons, compiling 256 victories to become the winningest coach in school history ; in one of his most memorable seasons, led Stanford to a 16-9 record, final No. 10 national ranking by United Press International and share of the AAWU title in 1962-63 ; his playing career was interrupted by World War II ; stationed at Pennsylvania for 13 weeks in preparation for aerial navigation, he led a team of 17-year-olds to the Eastern Intercollegiate Basketball Championship and was named an All-American ; basketball court on the first floor of the Arrillaga Family Sports Center is named Dallmar Court.
