| Head coach at Stanford from 1931-38, compiling a 108-83 overall record and a 44-47 ledger in league play; during his tenure, the 1936-37 squad finished 25-2 and was voted national champions by the Helms Foundation; coached Hank Luisetti for three seasons on the varsity level; led Stanford to 20-win seasons in 1935-36 (21-8 overall) and 1937-38 (21-3 overall); resigned following the 1937-38 campaign to accept President Ray Lyman Wilbur's appointment as Dean of Men at Stanford; played and coached under legendary coach Phog Allen at Kansas. | |||||||||||
