85,500-Seat Stanford Stadium a Sellout for 100th Big Game
The 100th Big Game, featuring Stanford University and the University of California, has sold out 85,500-seat Stanford Stadium, it was announced today.
The game is scheduled to be played November 22 at Stanford Stadium.
"We think this sends a message that the Big Game continues to be one of the premier sporting events in the Bay Area," said Stanford Athletic Director Ted Leland. "The 100th Big Game between these two prestigious university's will indeed be a memorable event."
The Big Game sellout is the first at Stanford since the 1991 game drew a then-capacity 86,019. The last two Big Games at Stanford have drawn 72,893 in 1995 and 82,500 in 1993. Last year's game in Berkeley did not sellout Memorial Stadium (capacity 75,662), drawing 70,500.
