Women's Scholarships

Scholarships allow us to be effective in recruiting top athletes to Stanford. The men's program is now totally endowed and provides for the NCAA maximum of 4 1/2 scholarships. However, the women's program still needs help in order to cover their eight allowable scholarships. This help may be given in the following ways:

  1. General Scholarship Support. A gift of any size is much appreciated. It is used to supplement an existing Living or Endowed scholarship.
  2. Living Scholarships. A living scholarship provides the amount of room, board, tuition and fees (approximately $27,500 annually) to a specific student athlete. This may be given by an individual or two or more donors.
  3. Endowed Sholarships. An endowment of approximately $500,000 creates an investment whose yearly earnings provide room, board, tuition and fees for one student athlete "forever." (During Campaign 2000, all gifts of over $100,000 are matched on a one-for-three basis by an anonymous donor.)
