No. 9 Stanford Competes At Lake Natoma Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - Ninth-ranked Stanford women's rowing faces off against some of the top crews in the nation this weekend at the 2013 Lake Natoma Invitational.

Joining the Cardinal at the competition will be No. 1 USC, No. 2 California, No. 12 Notre Dame, No. 15 Wisconsin, No. 17 Washington State, Sacramento State, Kansas and Tulsa.

Teams will be assigned into groups of three determined by the race officials for Saturday's action. Within each trio, the teams will race in the I Eight, II Eight and Four classes. Taking results of Saturday's racing into account, coaches will seed the teams into three new groups for Sunday's finals.

Racing begins at 8 a.m. Saturday with the Fours. The II Eight races will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the I Eights taking off at 9 a.m. Following a break, the teams will be grouped into new groups of three, with each class of racing set to begin at 3:50 p.m. (Fours), 4:20 p.m. (II Eights) and 4:50 p.m. (I Eights).

Sunday's groups get underway at 8:20 a.m. (Fours), 8:50 a.m. (II Eights) and 9:20 a.m. (I Eights).

Stanford will also send a novice eight crew to compete separately. Novice heats will get off at 3:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. Saturday with the petite final set for 8 a.m. and the Grand Final at 8:10 a.m. Sunday morning.
