STANFORD, Calif. -Each week GoStanford.com will feature a Q&A with a different member of the 2013 Stanford softball team. This week get to know sophomore Lauren Donovan.

Nicknames: Lo, Donovan, Lo D, LoDo Baggins

How old were you when you first started playing softball? I was in kindergarten, so around 5 years old.

If you could have one superpower what would it be? I wish I could apparate like they do in Harry Potter so I could travel everywhere!

Besides softball, do you have any unique talents? I can fall asleep anywhere, especially at the Stacks breakfast table.

If you could meet any celebrity who would it be? TAYLOR SWIFT. Obviously because we are best friends she just doesn’t know it yet. We have the same birthday so it must be fate.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? ITALY! I want to go and live in Italy for a couple of years. Just become immersed in everything Italian – the culture, the history, and of course the food.

If you won the lottery what is the first thing you would buy? I would give half to charity and put the other half in a savings account.

What is your favorite thing about being a Stanford student-athlete? I love having the best of both worlds by being a Stanford student-athlete. I can take advantage of the amazing academic opportunities here, and also be a part of the incredible athletic programs. The athletes here really do incredible things, working hard in their sport and in their classes.

What is your dream job? I would love to do the voices for animated characters!

What song do you always get stuck in your head? Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

What TV show would you want to be on/a part of? The New Girl! I adore that show. But I would love to act on pretty much any show.

Favorite music/artist? Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, The Lumineers, the Doobie Brothers

Biggest pet peeve? Chalkboards!

Most embarrassing moment? Last year I had to wear my glasses to practice for a whole week and Coach started calling me Professor Donovan.

Who on the team does the best Coach Rittman impersonation? Brandon hands down.

Which of your teammates is the best dancer? We have some very different dancer on the team. Ty is really good, Hanna is our “Korean pop star”, and Boo is just spastic.
