Diekroeger Earns Spot on Academic All-District Team

STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Danny Diekroeger has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Baseball Team, as announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Diekroeger, a first-team selection, now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot.

The second baseman from Woodside, Calif., carries a 3.79 grade-point average as a computer science major.

Diekroeger ranks second on the nationally-ranked Cardinal squad with 48 hits and is one of two players to start in each of this season's 39 contests.

In his first full slate as a starter, Diekroeger leads Stanford with 16 multi-hit outings. Diekroeger is hitting .294 on the season with 19 runs scored and 23 RBI. He is fielding at a .973 clip from the middle infield.

Diekroeger and the Cardinal travels to Arizona State this weekend for a three-game Pac-12 Conference series. Friday's opener begins at 7 p.m. (PT) and will be televised live on ESPNU.
