STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford women's rowers Lindsay Meyer and Christina Bax were named to the West All-Region First and Second Teams, respectively, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced.
Additionally, the Cardinal had nine rowers named to the CRCA Scholar-Athlete list. Bax, Sarah Bolmer, Naomi Cornman, Alison Fauci, Nicole Gilmore, Claire Grover, Elise Guinee-Cooper, Daphne Martschenko and Maddy McCartney all made the list.
For Bolmer and Grover it was their third straight honor, while Bax, Fauci and Martschenko each made the list for the second time in their respective careers.
The Stanford women will compete at the 2013 NCAA Championships this weekend, May 31-June 2 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Ind.
Meyer and Bax are part of Stanford's I Eight that took fifth at the Pac-12 Championships May 19. Meyer, a 2008 Olympian, returned to The Farm this year for her final season with the Cardinal after taking 2012 off to train for a second Olympic berth in the single sculls. Bax, a junior, earned the first All-Region nod of her career.
Criteria for the CRCA Scholar-Athlete award include maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50, being in at least her second year of eligibility at the University and participating in at least 75 percent of her team's races.
