NorPac Foes Await

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 6 Stanford shifts its focus to conference play this weekend as it takes on two NorPac opponents.

The Cardinal (7-2, 1-0 NorPac) opens its weekend at home Friday at 6 p.m. against Pacific (3-7, 1-1 NorPac) at the Varsity Turf, and will travel to UC Davis (2-7, 0-0 NorPac) on Sunday for a 6 p.m. matchup.

Stanford went 1-1 last weekend in New York, falling to No. 5 Syracuse 3-1 and defeating No. 11 Albany 2-1. The Cardinal found itself in a bit of unusual territory as it was outshot and managed less than 10 shots in each game.

Goalkeeper Dulcie Davies had an outstanding weekend, making six saves against Syracuse and a career-best 16 stops against Albany to help Stanford earn the split. She was named the NorPac Defensive Player of the Week for her strong performance.

Kasey Quon scored her first career game-winning goal against Albany, while Jessica Chisholm scored her second of the year to secure the win.

Kelsey Harbin leads Stanford in points (11), goals (4) and is tied with Shannon Herold with three assists apiece. Harbin has recorded at least one point in three of the past four matches. The Cardinal has received offensive contributions from a variety of players with 10 scoring at least one goal and 13 recording at least one point.

Stanford won the most recent meeting with Pacific 5-1 on Oct. 19, 2012, in which five Cardinal players recorded a goal. The Cardinal has won 13 in a row against Pacific, dating back to 2006.

The Tigers went 1-1 last weekend, splitting a pair of games against California – falling 2-1 on Friday and earning a 4-2 victory on Sunday. Emily Tregoning leads the team with seven points, while Melissa Maultsby has scored a team-best three goals. Four players have logged time in net, with Molly Macierz earning a majority of the time. Macierz holds a 2.83 GAA and .636 save percentage.

The Cardinal defeated UC Davis in the last meeting 4-2 on Oct. 20, 2012, led by two goals from Lauren Becker.

The Aggies are returning from a lengthy Midwest trip that included four games in six days in Ohio and Indiana. UC Davis went 1-3 on the trip, earning its only win in its final match of the trip against Vermont 4-1. Danielle Koehne leads the Aggies in points (10) and goals (5), followed by Cloey LemMon and Jaime Garcia with eight points apiece.
