STANFORD, Calif. - No. 6 Stanford received goals from six different players in a 6-1 rout of Pacific on Friday night at the Varsity Turf.
The Cardinal (8-2, 2-0 NorPac) continued its dominance of the Tigers (3-8, 1-2 NorPac), extending its winning streak to 14 overall in the series.
Tied at 1-1, Stanford scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the first half before adding three more goals in the second stanza to finish the night with a season-high six goals.
Kelsey Harbin got the Cardinal on the board early when she drilled a shot off a penalty corner, set up by Shannon Herold and Hope Burke. Harbin leads Stanford with five goals and 13 points on the year.
Clemence Couteau scored her team-best third game-winning goal of the year in the 25th minute, placing a shot between the Pacific goalkeeper’s legs off a feed from Maddie Secco.
Goalkeeper Dulcie Davies saw most of her action in the first half, making three of her four saves. The lone goal allowed was the first given up at the Varsity Turf since Sept. 6 when No. 20 New Hampshire scored in the second minute – a span of 224:03.
The Cardinal carried its momentum into the second half, dominating a majority of the possession. Elise Ogle scored just 41 seconds into the second half, becoming the 11th Stanford player to record a goal.
Casey Deeds became the 12th Cardinal player to record a goal when she scored her first career goal in the 67th minute, knocking in a rebound off a shot by Kasey Quon.
Stanford held advantages in shots (19-6) and penalty corners (6-2).
The Cardinal will look to continue its momentum and remain unbeaten in NorPac play as it travels to UC Davis for its next matchup on Sunday at 6 p.m.
