DENVER- Chasson Randle’s game-high 29 points paced Stanford to a 66-57 victory over Denver on Sunday afternoon.
Playing its first road game of the year and fourth contest of a 10-day stretch overall, Stanford (3-1) trailed 25-24 at halftime but took control midway through the second half.
Randle was dominant offensively, finishing 10-14 from the field and 7-9 from the foul line while making both of his three-point tries. He also collected three steals, all of which led to either highlight-worthy fast breaks or dunks.

Anthony Brown scored all 12 of his points in the second half for the Cardinal, which shot 44.4 percent overall (52.2 percent over the final 20 minutes) and cashed in from the foul line with a 23-34 clip.
Stanford forced 18 turnovers and owned a 32-28 rebounding edge, with Josh Huestis grabbing nine and Dwight Powell hauling down eight.
Denver (0-2) was led by Chris Udofia’s 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Pioneers were just 15-25 from the charity stripe, typically an area of strength.
In a game that featured six ties and nine lead changes, both teams struggled to find a rhythm offensively in the first half. Stanford was just 8-22 from the field while Denver was 9-24, with Randle and Udofia carrying both of their respective teams.
Leading 41-39, Stanford embarked on a 16-5 scoring run that was capped when Brown converted the second of two free throws to make it 57-44 with 4:16 remaining.
A lay-up by Nate Engesser with two seconds left prevented Stanford from a double-digit victory.
