STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford sailing completed a dominating weekend of racing with three top-two finishes at the St. Francis Interconference and Lynne Marchiando Regatta.
The Cardinal claimed the top-two spots among a field of 29 teams at the St. Francis Interconference with the two Stanford teams combining for 12 wins across two divisions. The Cardinal 2 team finished first with 74 points, followed by Cardinal 1 in second with 83 points.
Sarah Mace and Samantha Steele represented Cardinal 2 in division-A, finishing first with 25 points. The duo finished in the top five in all nine of their races and earned three victories.
Molly McKinney and Cally Tullo sailed for Cardinal 2 in division-B, earning a second-place result with 49 points. The pair earned eight top-10 finishes in nine races, including one victory.
Keiran Chung and Haley Kirk represented Cardinal 1 in division-A, placing second with 43 points. Chung and Kirk led Stanford with 6 victories and finished the regatta with eight top-five finishes.
Yuki Yoshiyasu and Daniel Ron raced for Cardinal 1 in division-B, finishing first with 20 points. The pair earned five top-five finishes, including one win.
Stanford delivered an impressive first-place performance at the Lynne Marchiando Regatta, finishing with an 18-4 record. The Cardinal was represented by skippers Mateo Vargas, Kevin Laube and Oliver Toole.
Tally Buckstaff, Yuri Namikawa, Nicolette Obel and Michelle Catania crewed the team to its first-place result.
