STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford women’s soccer assistant Nicole Van Dyke has been promoted to associate head coach, Cardinal head coach Paul Ratcliffe announced Thursday.
“This recognizes Nicole’s value at Stanford,” Ratcliffe said. “She’s done a tremendous job in her three years here. She does so many things within the program to help us remain one of the premier soccer teams in the country.”
Van Dyke has helped the Cardinal earn a 61-8-3 record in her three seasons, earning a national championship ring in 2011 for her role in helping Stanford to the NCAA title and has won two Pac-12 championships. Before coming to Stanford, Van Dyke was the head coach at Cal State Bakersfield for five seasons and at Cal State Stanislaus for three.
“I’m honored,” Van Dyke said, “And I’m thankful to Paul and to the entire senior staff for their belief in me and their inspiration over the past three years. Being part of the Stanford family, and working with incredible coaches and student-athletes every day has been an amazing experience. I am thoroughly excited about the continued success of Stanford soccer.”
Van Dyke has been active in all aspects of the program.
“She’s a very strong recruiter,” Ratcliffe said. “She’s a good coach on the field. She pretty much does it all.”
In the fall, Stanford will welcome the nation’s top recruiting class, as determined by TopDrawerSoccer.com, as the Cardinal seeks its sixth NCAA College Cup appearance in seven years. The team went 15-6-1 last season and advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the eighth consecutive season.
