STANFORD, Calif. ? Assistant coach Nate Rooks spent the last 56 hours driving the team’s competition shells a total of 2,400 miles in preparation for the NCAA Championships next week.

What was it like sleeping in the truck?
I preferred it to getting a hotelFirst night I slept at Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. I slept 8.5 hours, the most in three months.
Second night I slept at a rest stop in Iowa. It was louder and closer to the highway but I slept well.
