STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford sailing completed its regular season with a first-place finish at the Team Race PCCSC Conference Championship. The Cardinal win completed a sweep of all six conference championships this season.
Stanford finished first at the Carter Ford Team Race with a perfect 9-0 record. The victory comes on the heels of winning the Coed PCCSC Championship last weekend in Hawaii. Second place went to Santa Barbara (5-4), followed by Hawaii (4-5).
Six Cardinal skippers contributed to the win, including Mateo Vargas, Kieran Chung, Antoine Screve, Kevin Laube, Hans Henken and Oliver Toole.
Tally Buckstaff, McKenzie Wilson, Haley Kirk, Yury Namikawa, John Cannistraro, Carolyn Ortel and Helena Scutt sailed as crews to help lead Stanford to victory.
Stanford will compete at the national regatta in a couple weeks.
