Badhwar Steadying Cardinal

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Viraat Badhwar had six birdies during his 2-under outing, with four of those coming on the front nine Saturday during the United States Collegiate Championship at The Golf Club of Georgia. Badhwar, who is tied for 19th among individuals, anchored the men’s golf team during the second round of the three-day event.

Stanford is tied for seventh with Oklahoma State at even-par after posting a 5-over 293. Texas (-10) leads the 15-team field. LSU had Saturday’s best round with a 9-under 279, moving up eight spots to fifth.

Maverick McNealy is tied for sixth at 4-under, collecting a 2-over 74 in his second round. McNealy had three birdies while suffering a triple-bogey eight on the par-5 11th.

Franklin Huang matched McNealy’s score with a steady 2-over.

Jim Liu carded five birdies while finishing at 5-over. David Boote was even on the front nine but 2-over on the back.
