SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Jeffrey Swegle had five birdies while carding a 3-under 68 to lead the Stanford men’s golf team Tuesday during the Gifford Collegiate Championship contested at the par-71 CordeValle Country Club. Competing as an individual, Swegle is 17th overall at even-par through 36 holes as the Cardinal is fourth among the 10-team field.

The three-day, 54-hole event wraps up Wednesday. Live results will be available at GoStanford.com.

UCLA’s Jake Knapp (-6) leads all individuals as USC paces the pack at 12-under.

Viraat Badhwar’s even-par outing kept him in the top-10, and the sophomore is tied for sixth overall. Badhwar had five birdies with as many bogeys.

Maverick McNealy (t-41st) and David Boote (t-13th) each signed off at 2-over on the day.

Boote is 1-under overall, one shot behind Badhwar.

Franklin Huang (73-71) is tied for 26th. Bradley Knox (t-49th) was nine shots better than his opening round with a 70, and Dominick Francks (73-76) stands tied for 49th.
