SANTA ANA, Calif. – Lauren Kim sits tied for fourth among individuals at the UC Irvine Invitational, with two rounds completed Monday at the Santa Ana Country Club. Kim led the Stanford women’s golf team -- which won the tournament title in 2014 -- with respective rounds of even-par 72 and 3-under 69.
The Cardinal is tied for 10th heading into Tuesday’s finale. Stanford (300-298) is 22-over with Washington (-10) leading the 13-team field.
Kim is only three shots behind USC’s Gabrielle Then, who leads all players at 6-under.
Kim had two birdies on the front and two bogeys on the back during her first circuit. She had five birdies and a double bogey for a 3-under the second time around.
Defending medalist Mariah Stackhouse moved up five spots after her first-round 74 with an even-par 72 and knocked in five birdies during the 36 holes. Stackhouse is tied for 21st.
Quirine Eijkenboom (75-77) is tied for 43rd at 8-over. Casey Danielson (79-80) is 15-over and Calli Ringsby (80-84) is tied for 70th.
